Cain's Ballroom - 1975

In the last year of researching I have come across some old news articles thought many of you might find interesting.  The first one is from the Tulsa Tribune, dated December 10, 1975.

Was a regular of Cain's at about the time of this Tribune article (Tulsa Tribune, sigh) and was somewhat obsessed with the greater Greenwood/Archer neighborhood.

I gather it's a far different world now, in that particular spot on the wrong side of the tracks, but I love that it survives. Nice post Nancy.

My father had the house band at the Cain's Ballroom from 1964 until 1968. They were called The American Strings. I have a bunch of pictures from the Cain's during that time. They backed any of the country stars that weren't traveling with a band yet. This included Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette.
