I really enjoyed looking over all the 1927 material. Amazing how many buildings are still around and amazing how many have disappeared without a trace.
I can remember Vandever's. I don't know if I was ever in the downtown location, but they were in Southroads Mall, once upon a time. There was also Brown-Dunkin (Dillards) that were Tulsa shopper's favorites. Then there was alway's Kress's. I can still smell the roasted/salted peanuts that used to be sold at the candy counter there.
WOW! I am Mary Lynn Watt Milam. I remember when my grandfather's company (Watt Plumbing) was across the street from Central High School, and next door to the Springer Clinic (which was on the corner of 6th & Cinn.) Thank you for bringing back so many wonderful memories of Tulsa businesses and companies that are gone. I also remember Seindbach's, Dorothy's, The Orpheum, Ritz and Majestic Theaters. What fun!
